It’s my birthday, I’ll play Mass Effect 2 if I want to! (I know I’m writing this on the 24th but I had problems getting on earlier, my birthday was the 23rd and I haven’t gone to bed yet!)
I also know the above picture is bad quality but I took it on my phone. I can’t have cake so my birthday candle and suchlike were placed in a chip I had with my steak – I rarely eat steak and chips so thought I’d treat myself.
My main present was Mass Effect 2, which I’m thoroughly enjoying, although I’m having issues linking my Dragon Age: Origins account and my EA account (I forgot I had an EA account when I made the DA:O one) so I need to wait for Customer Support to get back to me before I can try out the Blood Dragon Armour DLC.
As soon as I get it all sorted I’ll let you know what I think of the game, at the moment it’s bugging me…but it is enjoyable, when it’s not annoying me – but that’s a background/account problem.
I’m going to get some sleep and hopefully have something for you tomorrow…today…yeah…
I can make all the excuses I want but that won’t detract from the fact I have just been lazy and unmotivated. I’ve had one of those weeks where, you know, “I just can’t be arsed.”
I’ve been meaning to blog since my birthday but whenever it’s come to start writing, my brain has shut off and there’s nothing there to write about. Very frustrating.
So what’s been happening since my last entry?
Well, we had an earthquake over here in England. I didn’t feel a thing which was very annoying as most of my friends were, at the time, talking to me on MSN with phrases like “Oh my God! Did you feel that?” being uttered.
Also learnt that greed is a cruel mistress which should be approached with extreme caution. Greed is especially nasty when gambling is concerned; where the risks are great and the losses potentially equally as great.
This raised an interesting business question where risk vs reward is similarly great. I’m sure the answer is ‘both’ but did the world’s top entrepreneurs sell their first companies when offers to buy came in then start over again, or did they stick it out and risk losing a good sum of money? Did they ‘quit’ while they were ahead, as it were?
I recently bought NHL 08 for the Xbox360 so I’ve been splitting my time between that and Call Of Duty 4. I’ve never been a particularly big fan of sports games but after I downloaded the NHL 08 demo I decided to buy it. I may be a convert!
On the subject of Call Of Duty 4, I finally made it into Prestige #3 yesterday and decided to make a video about it. It still doesn’t get any easier!
I am desperately in need of money at the moment. I could really do with designing a couple of websites to bring in some money but with the rough patch of health I’ve been in, I just haven’t felt up to work. If you do know any small businesses who are interested in a simple website for under £300 please get them to visit GBYdesign.co.uk and get in touch with me. It’d be greatly appreciated. I’ll give you/them a 10% discount if you quote Ref: LMRTDES in the email.
Lastly, I started to read one of the books I got for my birthday; the Stephen Fry one. Fry really is utterly fantastic. I’m not sure where on the fantastic scale he sits in comparison to Kate Beckinsale because we all know she is also rather fantastic. That said, I do have – and have had for a while – a large soft spot for Katherine Jenkins. I digress, they’re totally different scales. Fry’s book, The inComplete & Utter History of Classical Music is a very enjoyable read. It’s humourous, fact-filled and of a subject which I love dearly – hence Katherine Jenkins soft spot!
I recommend buying it if you like classical music. I recommend buying it if you like Stephen Fry. Just buy it.
