My Brain Has Shut Down…

It would appear that my brain has stopped working. My last update was a bit of a cop out, if I’m honest and I’ve been meaning to write a new entry but I have had nothing to write about. It’s quite worrying.

For the past couple of weeks I’ve had no real opinions (worth writing about), no thoughts or events. My brain has been vegetating, unable to work. The only things that have happened have been related to various objects ceasing to work properly.

This started with the family Smart Car, the brake lights in which have stopped working – both of them. Then my Land Rover started emitting some blue smoke from the exhaust at odd times – which reminds me, I must phone my garage! To top it all off my PC had a bit of a panic attack after it found a few trojans and decided to stop working. Thankfully, the PC is now fixed (albeit with my bank balance £50 lighter), the Smart is going in for a service today and I’ve just got off the phone with the garage who said the Land Rover shouldn’t be a big problem.

I’ve hit a bit of a brick wall on a couple of my novel’s plot points which I’m trying to work through; I have a few ideas for them but need to decide on the best course of action.

In other news; last night I started in an online race series with a few chaps from a car forum and Ben (you remember, my creative associate?) on Forza Motorsport 2, which was a good giggle. There are eight of us in completely standard (except for livery – see below) BMW M3s to level the playing field. T’is rather a lot of fun.

I also received my Call of Duty: World at War BETA code a couple of days ago and the game looks very interesting. I’ve never been a fan of period games but I am enjoying it. Not sure if I’ll pre-order or not just yet.

Birthday Review

bday-blog.jpgI woke up this morning and threw on some clothes, popped downstairs and begun searching for the large box I’d been expected. The box in question, sort of Kate Beckinsale sized, Kate Beckinsale filled wasn’t there. Yet another year goes by and still no sign but I’m expecting at least a card! Do you think she even knows?! One lives in hope.

Aside from the lack of Kate Beckinsale on my birthday, I did receive some lovely presents (pictured above). If you can’t quite make them out there’s a steering wheel for my Xbox360 which I can use for Forza 2. There’s the new, personalised numberplates for my Land Rover; none of this twaddle that’s supposed to say something. The books are: The World According To Clarkson Volume 2, A Pocket Guide To Superstitions of the British Isles and Stephen Fry’s Incomplete & Utter History of Classical Music.

I also received an invite from Christian to Seesmic where I put up this video about my birthday presents. I’m new to this Seesmic thing but it does look good; something I think I’ll be looking more into.

That’s about it for this brief entry. I’ve had a nice relaxing day – which is how I like my Birthdays – and the burning question of the day is “what book to read next?”. So much choice.

I’m off to have some cake.
