I have to apologise to the OneADay network, I missed yesterday’s blog. I was going to do it in the evening before I went to bed…right when my internet dropped out. Which also made it difficult to blog via the subject of today’s blog.
My last blog update had a couple of mistakes in it…par for the course when you write it at gone 3am. Oops. I wanted to edit them in case people read it during the night or early in the morning, but really didn’t want to get up and put the computer on. Thankfully, while browsing WordPress on my Blackberry I stumbled upon an app for the Blackberry.
Unfortunately, having no WiFi connection I decided to wait so it didn’t take hours to download and would allow me to get some sleep. But hey, it gave me a good idea for my next blog post. But as I couldn’t do my OneADay, I’ll get two done today.
So, this WordPress BlackBerry app. What’s it like? Well there’s a very nice and simple interface to it. I have two blogs associated with my account and after logging in both of them were available for me to manage, which is brilliant. The downside was that it took a long time to load the blogs and I had a few errors trying to get into this one to do anything. Once I did manage to get in I found the main menu, which breaks down the blog into Posts, Pages, Comments, Options and a feature to refresh everything.
Refreshing and loading times seem really slow but I’m not sure whether that’s the application itself or the connection I have via the phone. It means making changes can and, in my limited experience, does take quite some time but it also means that you can edit and update your blog without having to log onto a computer. Handy.
At the moment, with the refresh and loading times it’s very frustrating, but if I really need to update my blog and can’t get to a computer I can see it being a fantastic utility to have.
